Algalif is a leading global supplier of high quality, sustainably produced, natural astaxanthin products from pluvialis microalgae, globally renowned for their commitment to sustainability, using only green renewable geothermal energy and pure pristine natural water.

Astaxanthin is a red pigment belonging to a group of chemicals called carotenoids that occurs naturally in freshwater microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis with Astaxanthin is an antioxidant with the potential to protect cells against damage while improving immune system functions, aiding in the activation of white blood cells (T-cells). T-cells are one of two primary types of lymphocytes-B cells that aid in the immune response to foreign substances in the body.

Algalif’s premium branded astaxanthin, Astalíf, is primarily employed as a powerful dietary supplement ingredient, attributed to the aid of visual and neurological health, skin rejuvenation, cardiovascular health and muscle recovery.

Algalif’s commercial range also includes immune-health ingredients branded Nutramunity Beta-Glucan, “for use in food, beverages, nutraceuticals, sports nutrition, and personal care products.” (Algalif, 2022)

All of Algalif’s products are developed upon a strong scientific foundation and “manufactured to rigorous quality and sustainability standards” (Algalif, 2022)

“Our mission is to continue to grow as a company, to produce more ingredients from microalgae and to expand into other fields as fast as possible.”

Algalif is committed to aiding in the resolution of current and future generation nutritional needs, through the development and implementation of a reliable supply of high-quality, sustainable astaxanthin.

Pure Icelandic sustainability

Algalif recently begun operation out of a new state of the art cultivation facility in Iceland, the country is a quintessential part of the Algalif’s sustainable algae cultivation, offering a zero contamination and pollution free environment and an excess amount of pure water and renewable energy, continuously increasing the astaxanthin R&D standard.

Iceland generates 100% of its electricity from clean energy sources with the aim to reach carbon neutrality by 2040, with Algalif recognized as a leader in the country’s fastest growing biotechnology and green industry.

“We have access to clean, renewable geothermal energy… stable temperature of the region is also a big plus because this means that we have less bio burden, which translates into less contamination risk, but also the fact that there is less need for energy intensive cooling.”

Algalif’s Iceland facility is 100% geothermal powered, equipped with a proprietary lighting system that reduces energy consumption by 50% while creating an optimal microalgae habitat that increases growth, productivity and yield.

Algalif’s dedication to efficient and sustainable solutions makes them one of the most sustainable companies worldwide in their field, working to adhere to UN Global Goals, “Algalif´s production is carbon negative, it consumes CO₂ and releases oxygen.” (Algalif, 2022)

“As a core of our business, we aim to be net positive to the environment.”
