Having a healthy work-life counterbalance has been proven to improve employee productivity, efficiency, and workers’ mental health. Unfortunately, it is something that many modern entrepreneurs, especially those focused on growing their businesses, struggle to maintain.

Achieving this balance has always been a priority for Cyberbacker’s founder and CEO Craig Goodliffe. He saw that many of his friends - fellow entrepreneurs, were overworked and underpaid and he wanted to find a solution.

He realised that the solution involved providing employment opportunities for the hard working people of the Philippines. He discovered that by pairing emerging international talent - from one of the biggest English-speaking countries in the world, with emerging businesses, he could not only help entrepreneurs regain their work-life balance but also create jobs and opportunities for people who urgently needed them across the globe.

In our modern global economy, if a job does not require a physical presence, licence, or certification, it can be done by anyone in the world, creating the possibility of a global talent pool. Remote working has proved effective in helping to improve employee satisfaction and retention rates as well as providing greater flexibility for work-life harmony.

The company has created a service that is now available across the real estate sector, as well as dozens of other industries needing administrative assistance. From answering the phone, managing social media and bookkeeping, to transaction processing, Cyberbacker is able to relieve emerging businesses of the tasks that allow them to focus on growing and scaling their business.

Goodliffe has become deeply passionate about creating jobs and is moved by the role his company has played in providing work for those in need and views it as the most rewarding part of his job. He has also implemented a profit share system at Cyberbacker, to ensure that employees are looked after, even in their retirement.

Goodliffe has his own Cyberbacker, Jen Capero, who is also the company’s Chief Operating Officer. She works for Goodliffe remotely, from the Philippines, one of Cyberbacker’s key locations. Despite not being physically present, Capero is able to assist Goodliffe whenever she is needed, as she is linked into his meetings via his smartwatch.

For Capero the opportunity to work at Cyberbacker allowed her to get the kind of job she wanted, without having to move abroad. She agrees with Goodliffe, that the most rewarding part of Cyberbacker is the job creation, and seeing people reach their goals.

In the words of CEO and founder Craig Goodliffe, “when you care about people, you want to help them have what you have, when they want it” and “if you have something to share with this world, why not.” It is this generous attitude which fuels Goodliffe’s innovative vision of a business future that is encapsulated in Cyberbacker.
